The Common Application for Fall 2023 closes on
July 27. Prospective freshmen may begin applying for 2024 entry terms on August 1.

Please note that applications submitted in early August cannot be accessed by the University of Utah until mid-August.

I'm an incoming...

International Freshman

  • Freshmen applicants who are completing or have completed their secondary education (high school) and have not yet attended any post-secondary institution (college or university).
  • Applications received after the April 1st deadline will be considered based on the space available in our freshman class.

International Transfer

Transfer applicants who have already attended any post-secondary institution (college or university).

International Graduate

Graduate applicants who are completing or have completed the equivalent of a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree and are interested in pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree.

International Non-Traditional

Non-traditional students are those who have graduated from high school or earned a GED seven or more years prior to the term of admission and who have not previously enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university.

International Returning

Returning students are those who were previously enrolled in courses at the University of Utah but discontinued enrollment without completing a bachelor’s degree.

International Second Bachelor's

Second bachelor’s students are those who have completed a bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited college or university, including the University of Utah, and wish to earn another bachelor’s degree in a different field of study.
