Admitted Non-Degree Seeking Student Next Steps

Enrollment Next Steps

Create a Campus Information Services (CIS) Account

Log-in to cis.utah.edu using the university ID (UNID) included in your admissions letter and default password (which is your birthdate in MMDDYY format). Here is where you will register for classes, pay tuition, apply for housing, view grades, and more.

Register for Courses

Non-degree seeking students register for courses during open enrollment. For semester specific open enrollment dates, view the Academic Calendar.

If you are registered for graduate-level coursework of courses with prerequisites, you may need permission codes. Please contact the course instructor for help in acquiring permission codes.

Visit Your Advisor (Optional)

As a non-degree seeking student, you are not required to meet with an advisor. If you would like guidance regarding your coursework, you can learn more at advising.utah.edu.

Pay Tuition & Fees

Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid or scholarships. Pay tuition, fees, and housing and meal plan charges if applicable. Save yourself from long lines and pay online through the CIS portal.

Enrollment

Students admitted as non-degree seeking must be continuously enrolled. If you do not register for at least one credit-bearing course each semester (not including the summer term), your student status will be discontinued and you will need to reapply. Non-credit courses through Continuing Education do not meet this requirement.

Undergraduate non-degree seeking students are only admitted for one term and must reapply each term they wish to attend.
