Can I Appeal My Denial?

If you were denied but have new and compelling information that was not included on your initial application, you can submit an appeal.

What is Required for an Appeal?

To appeal a decision, you must provide:

• A completed Appeal of the Denial Form
• Your most recent transcript

You may also submit the following, but it is not required:

• Two complete Letter of Recommendation forms (PDF)
  • These forms must be completed by someone who is familiar with your academic potential, preferably a current teacher or academic counselor.
  • Letters from family members or friends will not be considered.
• Supporting documentation to substantiate new and compelling information such as an an updated transcript or further documentation of extenuating circumstances.

When is my appeal packet due and when will I receive a decision?

Spring 2024 Term

Deadline to submit your appeal: December 1^st, 2023

Date by which you will receive a decision: December 8^th, 2023

Summer 2024 – Full Term

Deadline to Submit your Appeal: April 22, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: May 1, 2024

Summer 2024 – Second Session

Deadline to Submit your Appeal: June 11^th, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: June 17^th, 2024

Fall 2024 Round 1

Deadline to submit your appeal:  Feb. 15^th, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: April 15^th, 2024

Fall 2024 Round 2

Deadline to submit your appeal: May 1^st, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: June 4^th, 2024

Fall 2024 Round 3

Deadline to submit your appeal: June 11^th, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: July 16^th, 2024

Fall 2024 Round 4

Deadline to submit your appeal:  August 1^st, 2024

Date by which you will receive a decision: August 9^th, 2024

What should I do if I was denied as a freshman applicant?

We advise you to attend another regionally accredited institution and earn at least 30 credit hours at a cumulative GPA of 2.60 or higher, though meeting this standard does not guarantee admission.

If you wait to reapply until after you have completed 30 transferable semester hours or 45 transferable quarter hours, your high school record will not be included in the review of your new application.

What should I do if I was denied as a transfer applicant?

Continue attending your current school and retake any courses with low grades in order to raise your transfer GPA.

Earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
