In February, we announced the First-Year Housing Scholarship to provide assistance for Utah residents to live in on-campus housing during their first year at the University of Utah. Unfortunately, the university is no longer able to offer this scholarship to incoming students. We encourage you to continue exploring options to live on campus during your first year. If you choose not to live on campus this year, we want to assure you that your housing application fee can be applied to future terms if needed. Our goal is to be good stewards of the fees we ask students and families to pay, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate these changes.

We recognize that this news may disappoint families who were counting on this support, and we sincerely empathize with those who made plans based on earlier information. It is never our intention to create uncertainty, and we apologize for any difficulties this may cause in planning for student housing.
