Number of Years at the U:

Since October 2017

Why did you decide to work at the U?

I’ve always loved having new experiences and broadening my perspective, which was a big part of why I left Southern California to attend school on the East Coast. So when the opportunity came to once again go somewhere new, I couldn’t say no.

Favorite Ute Memory:

Seeing the first snow on the Wasatch Mountains that overlook campus.

Most memorable college class:

I took a course my first semester freshman year called The Courage to Know which was a class focused on discussions around the transition into college with the questions: Who am I? What am I good at? Who am I called to become? The course and the discussions I had with my peers really helped make the university feel like home and helped alleviate the stress I was feeling as a new freshman student.

Best part of your job's location:

I love the mix of urban, suburban, and rural that Salt Lake City offers. I can just as easily go on a long hike through the mountains as I can go to a major sporting event or walk around downtown. Salt Lake City has something of interest for all types of people.

Best part of your job:

Working with students and being able to help answer their questions and alleviate some of the stress of the college application process

Tips for College:

Take advantage of all the university has to offer. It is easy to just focus on either the academic or social offerings of the U, but there are so many different resources that students should try and take advantage of.

What do you do in your free time:

I like to go to the movies by myself and spend a few hours just relaxing and seeing a story unfold. It’s something that a lot of people find uncomfortable but for me, there’s nothing better than being by myself not worrying about anything but the film.
