ADMISSION PROCESS
-
Check Admission Standards
Applicants are expected to have completed their previous degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.35 or higher.
The University of Utah uses a holistic review process when assessing applications to ensure we give all students the best opportunity to present a complete picture of their qualifications. Identifying applicants who are well prepared for academic success is one of the keys to providing our students with an extraordinary undergraduate experience.
Academic factors that are taken into consideration include: cumulative transferable GPA, rigor of course selection, grade trend, and academic awards. Non-academic factors include: involvement in student organizations, athletics, or other extracurricular activities; significant commitment to community engagement and volunteer work; familial and financial responsibilities; work experience; extraordinary circumstances; and ability to contribute to and benefit from a culturally and intellectually diverse learning community.

Check Application Deadlines
Spring

All applications are evaluated in the order in which they are received, and notification of admissions decisions are sent on a rolling basis. Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered on a space-available basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
-
Complete the Online Application
Be sure to fill out the application completely, as it will be used to determine the admissibility, residency for tuition purposes, and eligibility for merit scholarships. Once an application has been started, you will be able to save and continue at any time until submitted. Once submitted, changes will no longer be possible.
-
Pay the Application Fee
The application fee for undergraduate domestic students is $55. This fee is non-refundable.
The application fee can be paid online within the application, by phone, by mailed check or money order, or in person at the Student Services Building. The application must be submitted 24 hours before the application fee can be paid in person or by phone.
