June 2015

Why did you decide to work at the U?

The first time I came to Salt Lake City, I was blown away by the beauty and energy of the area. After meeting staff members and exploring campus, I knew I wanted to be a part of the incredible team here at the U of U. Exactly two months after that first visit to Utah, I had my first day in the office as an Admissions Counselor, and I have loved every minute since then!

Best part of your job's location:

The University of Utah's campus is so beautiful!

Favorite Salt Lake restaurant:

Café Zupas

If I didn't work in recruitment, I'd be:

Traveling the world in an RV.

Best part of your job:

My favorite part of being an Admissions Counselor is getting to help people. Serving as a resource during, what can be, a very stressful time is always so rewarding!

Tips for college:

Take advantage of every opportunity. If you do, you'll have an amazing experience, and be ready for the next adventure in your life when you're done!

Biggest role model:

Leslie Knope (from Parks and Recreation)

What do you do in your free-time?

I love getting outside and exploring Utah. As an east coast transplant, I can tell you that the mountains here are something else! I also love taking in all of the amazing cultural opportunities SLC has to offer- concerts, festivals, art shows, and most importantly, anything food-related.

Favorite spot/thing to do in Salt Lake:

Watching the sunset from the Avenues neighborhood. The view of the mountains surrounding the valley, airplanes taking off from the international airport, and the sun setting over the Great Salt Lake is incredible.

Favorite Salt Lake restaurant:

Cafe Trio
